What’s new?
Kronos implemented multiple updates and changes in the newest release of WFC Version 8.0. We have highlighted some of the most significant changes:
Workforce Central: The workforce central application now features Manager approval override, allowing a configuration that enables managers to override time card approvals. Extended translation support has been added allowing users to extend translation beyond what is provided in the language packs. Lastly, there is now a Challenge Filter for the Leaderboard, allowing users to add or remove individual challenges in any view. Once enabled as part of the Leaderboard widget configuration, only displayed challenges will count towards scores and rank.
Activities: There is now support for activity queries in Web forms, functioning the same as it does in time cards. Copy activity details now gives employees the ability to copy detail information associated with an activity to another activity on a different day. There were also changes made to the enhanced future dating validation period and activity variance validation.
Workforce Mobile: The first new update to Workforce Mobile gives users the ability to request, submit, and approve time off requests for a day in the past. Device Registration now allows a mobile user to log in on a device and not have to log in again for an approved and set period of time. Users can now configure Single Sign-on using SAML2 IdP. (WFC Mobile supports only IP-initiated SAML, not Service-Provider-Initiated SAML)

Issues Resolved:
The WFC service release includes the details of solutions implemented to resolve the issues experienced by WFC users. A few of the noteworthy modifications are compiled below:
Internet Explorer:
With Internet Explorer 11, when users tried to access HTML reports using a classic link (for example, a link in a Quick Link widget), the report menu was blank.
With Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers, the last week of the calendar pop-up window in Reports was obscured by the URL tip text box. The text box should appear on the horizontal scroll bar beneath the calendar content.
Windows Users:
-
If a Workforce Central application server was configured for Integrated Windows Authentication, alert notifications did not appear in Navigator for users who should see notifications. The following error message appeared: "Could not connect to Notification Server. You may not receive live notifications."
-
The solution to this issue required a code change to cause JBoss to use a different URL to communicate to Openfire. The URL is: /wfcstatic/XMPPBOSHService/ instead of /wfc/XMPPBOSHService/
-
With Windows authentication, when users tried to log in to Workforce Central, the following error message appeared: "Could not initialize class com.kronos.wfc.platform.security.business.authentication.login. KronosWinNTProxy"
Password:
-
If system administrators changed the Admin password for Interface Designer to one that contained an exclamation point (!), when they tried to log in, the message "Invalid Password" appeared.
-
When the employee called the system, he was not prompted to change his password and was able to log in with his old password.
This issue has been resolved by causing downloads to TeleTime IP to continue to request that the employee change his password until the new password is received by Workforce Central.
Cloud Users:
-
In a cloud environment, since users cannot use default accounts such as SuperUser or Import, they encountered an error when trying to submit the Personality XML API using a custom application. The XML request searched for terminated employees but could not find them. The following error message appeared:
“WFP-01568 The manager's employee group does not have access to the employee's labor account.”
Users could access terminated employees in the user interface; they should also be able to do this using the XML API.
If a customer whose system was hosted in a cloud environment upgraded from Workforce Central version 6.2.x to 7.0.x, Integration Manager interfaces took an unacceptably long time to run.
The solution included the creation of a new script called WTK0800SR029.sql.
