On July 29th, Microsoft released the long awaited Windows version 10 upgrade. The upgrade is free for the first year and available to Windows 7 and 8.1 system users. When Windows 10 was originally released, Kronos Engineering found no issues working with the two systems. However, further testing revealed issues related to the compatibility of Windows 10 and WFC Version 8.0.
Engineering uncovered issues accessing Workforce Central Version 8.0 using the Edge Browser that is included with Windows 10. Microsoft Edge is a browser Microsoft specifically developed to replace Internet Explorer as the default browser for Windows 10. The lack of compatibility is causing some of the Timekeeping Applications to perform poorly, including buttons not working, popup pages loading behind current window, etc.
Kronos is working diligently to correct these issues. The solutions will be implemented through a later Service Release of Workforce Central. It is important to note that Internet Explorer 11, which can be used with Windows 10, works as expected.
Internet Explorer 11 fully supports Workforce Central Version 8.0, as well as Java. Edge does not support Java, unlike IE11, which means only Java-free WFC functionality can be used with the Edge browser.

For Workforce Central v8.0: After more intensive testing, Kronos Engineering has discovered compatibility issues between WFC v8 and Microsoft Edge. Work is being done to correct the issues and updates with be released with the next WFC Service Release.
"For Workforce Central v6.3 and v7, Kronos Engineering will conduct testing of these versions after the General Availability version of Windows 10 is released. Kronos discourages WFC v6.3 and v7 users from upgrading their user environments to Windows 10 until Kronos conducts the testing."
"For Workforce Central v6.2 and earlier versions, Windows 10 is not a supported platform.”
Windows 10:
In the beginning of 2015, Microsoft’s executive vice president announced an initiative called “Windows as a service plan.” The new program focuses on operating system upgrades for all users who have upgraded to Windows 10. Windows 10 will be kept current for the supported lifetime of the device, meaning Microsoft will automatically download and install all mandatory software updates for Windows 10. The automatic updates protect users from any detected security vulnerabilities as well as fixes software or drivers that are outdated.
